About the Role
We are seeking high-performing, entrepreneurial Regional Business Development Managers to lead and accelerate our market expansion across three strategic African regions. In this role, you will be based in-market and take full ownership of discovering, onboarding, and managing key distributors and retail dealer networks.
You will manage the entire commercial cycle—from prospecting tier-1/tier-2 distributors to driving sell-out, tracking channel inventory health, and managing end-to-end order execution. This role requires quarterly business review visits to our Dubai Headquarters and rigorous weekly/monthly operational reporting.
Key responsibilities
1. Distributor & Dealer Network Expansion
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard top-tier distributors, wholesalers, and retail chains across assigned regional markets.
- Build a scalable B2C dealer distribution network to secure high shelf presence and multi-channel penetration.
2. Commercial & Account Operations
- Drive channel sell-in and proactively manage sell-out velocity across partner stores and regional distribution hubs.
- Monitor channel inventory levels, aging stock, and stock cover days to maintain optimal inventory turnover.
- Oversee end-to-end purchase order (PO) generation, forecasting, payment term compliance, and shipment delivery tracking.
3. Strategic Reporting & HQ Alignment
- Conduct weekly and monthly structured online reporting on sales pipelines, order intake, sell-out data, and regional market intelligence.
- Travel to Dubai HQ on a quarterly basis to present Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), review margin/P&L performance, and set forward-looking sales targets.
4. Market Intelligence & Competitor Tracking
- Gather real-time intelligence on competitive pricing, promotional campaigns, channel rebate structures, and consumer electronics/lifestyle trends within assigned countries.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of proven business development and account management experience in consumer electronics, small domestic appliances (SDA), home lifestyle, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in signing and scaling national/regional distributors and retail dealer networks in the target region.
- Residency: Must currently reside in and hold legal working rights for at least one target country in the assigned region:
- North Africa: Egypt or Morocco
- West Africa: Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, or Côte d’Ivoire
- Southern Africa: South Africa or Angola
- Language Proficiency:
- English: Professional working proficiency (mandatory for all regions).
- Regional Language Requirements:
- North Africa: Fluent Arabic and/or French.
- West Africa: Fluent French (mandatory for Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire) or English (for Nigeria and Ghana).
- Southern Africa: Fluent Portuguese (mandatory for Angola) or English (for South Africa).
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel regionally within the territory and commit to quarterly travel to Dubai, UAE.
- Portfolio Submission: Submission of a Business Development Portfolio is mandatory (e.g., deal sheets highlighting past brand launch success, network size built, or growth percentages achieved without disclosing proprietary client data).
What we look for
- Competitive base salary plus aggressive performance-driven incentive structure.
- Autonomy to build and lead a high-growth territory backed by strong Dubai HQ supply chain and commercial resources.
- Regular international exposure with quarterly strategy sessions in Dubai.
