Penetrating Traditional Trade
Penetrating Traditional Trade: Route-to-Market Strategy & Credit Risk Governance
Challenge
The Solution
To bridge this structural gap, our team developed and executed a systematic route-to-market framework designed to map, evaluate, and professionally manage independent retail accounts across the United Arab Emirates. We began by conducting a comprehensive nationwide field census, establishing a detailed retail mapping of 1,200+ independent electronics dealers. Each business was cataloged based on verified sales volume, store location, commercial reputation, and operating stability, allowing us to categorize the retail landscape into four distinct operational tiers. To maintain active commercial engagement, we organized a dedicated field sales force structured by regional territories, ensuring consistent and active coverage of approximately 1,000 retail stores each year.
Crucially, we insulated working capital by implementing an institutional, dual-track credit management system. For high-volume Tier-A accounts, credit risk was managed through credit controls and insurance where applicable. For Tier-B and Tier-C dealers, our internal credit risk committee implemented a disciplined, data-driven evaluation mechanism. This included establishing tailored credit limits, enforcing structured payment cycles, and continually adjusting trade terms based on verified transaction histories.
